The C-130 is modified with a Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System. Mission: The 731st Squadron of the 302nd Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve flies Aerial Firefighting sorties all over the western states. This mission is unique to the Air Force Reserve, usually called upon when other resources to combat wildfires have been exhausted. This is also the home of the 70th Flying Training Squadron which trains cadets at the Air Force Academy to pilot gliders, among other aircraft.
