Las Vegas, NV, June 26, 2009 - The U.S. Air Force Reserve has partnered with Feld Motor Sports to support the action-packed monster truck series Monster Jam. The event will be held at Lebanon Valley Speedway, July 13 - 15, in West Lebanon, NY.
The Monster Jam series packs in big thrills as monster trucks go head-to-head and tackle the jumps, ditches, water hazards and ramps that make up the arena obstacle course. It is one of three new extreme sports series that the Reserve is sponsoring this year. Other events have included the ASA Action Sports Tour and Professional Bull Riding.
"We want motivated, excited, can-do people who are looking to be a part of a professional organization that strives for success," said SMSgt Alex Brown, Special Events Manager of the Air Force Reserve.
Monster Jam events draw in people who are in different places in life and are interested in different things. But the Air Force Reserve is looking for the one thing they have in common.
"We are looking for people that want adventure and at the same time want to be a major player in today's work force," said SMSgt Brown. "We offer a wide range of jobs to suit a wide range of interests such as Firefighting, Aircraft Maintenance, Security Forces and Aerospace Medical."
The Air Force Reserve began sponsoring extreme sports events because it is a growing market that appeals to their target demographic.
"Bring your "A" game and be a positive forward-thinking individual that wants to live and breathe success because you are worth it," said SMSgt. Brown. "With that attitude anything is possible physically and mentally with the Air Force Reserve. The Air Force Reserve will provide education, training and leadership skills. These are the benefits and experiences people can use in anything they choose to do in life," said SMSgt. Brown.
The U.S. Air Force Reserve has partnered with ASA Entertainment to sponsor the ASA Action Sports World Tour. The tour will hit the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN on April 25, 2009.
"The Air Force Reserve is looking for people who are motivated, disciplined and lead an active lifestyle," said MSgt Joanna Gasca, Special Events Manager of the Air Force Reserve. “People who participate in or enjoy these types of sports possess those kind of attributes."
The ASA Action Sports World Tour consists of BMX, freestyle motocross (FMX), skateboarding and inline skating. It is one of three new extreme sports events that the Reserve is sponsoring this year. Other events include Monster Jam and Professional Bull Riding.
"We have the types of jobs that would suit someone with an active lifestyle," said MSgt Gasca. "Firefighting, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Pararescuemen and Security Forces are just a few that offer the adrenaline rush that athletes are used to."
"These jobs require physical fitness, a tough mentality and the drive to succeed. Given these types of requirements, it's easy to see why we are branching out to support these types of sports," said MSgt Gasca.
Other stops for the Air Force Reserve in the ASA Action Sports World Tour include Cincinnati and Seattle/Tacoma.
