Our Biomedical Professionals are some of our most important assets. Optometrists have the opportunity to learn specialized subjects such as the effects of excessive g-forces on the eyes. Physician's Assistants might find themselves in settings different from anything ever experienced, and Public Health Professionals gain new skills in population health that are unavailable in the civilian sector. Social Workers will have the opportunity to develop crisis intervention procedures and techniques specific to military members and their families. Whether you are an Optometrist, Social Worker, Physician's Assistant or Public Health expert, we value your skills.
IncentivesAn array of rewards are offered to Air Force Reserve Biomedical Professionals while participating a minimum of one weekend a month and two weeks a year. You will receive the respect and privileges that come with being a commissioned officer. Opportunities exist to be at the forefront of international medical partnerships through participation in the International Health Service program. You will receive an extra paycheck and non-contributory retirement benefits. You will have the opportunity to visit unique locations whether on-duty or off-duty via military aircraft. As an additional benefit, you will also have access to base facilities such as fitness centers, tax-free shopping, and commissary privileges.
The Air Force Reserve does not require you to move. If an Air Force Reserve medical unit is located near you, anticipate an assignment within a feasible commuting distance from your home.
