Air Force Reserve Healthcare
Professionals: Our leaders
in lab coats.
You didn't get into healthcare
because it would be easy. You wanted the challenge of
learning something new, the respect that comes with
a job well done and the satisfaction of healing.
Now it's time to go above and beyond.
Your country needs you now like never before. As an
Air Force Reserve healthcare professional, you'll enjoy
the privileges that come with being a commissioned officer.
You'll be automatically enrolled in the non-contributory
retirement plan and you'll earn a second paycheck that
may include special flight pay. Air Force Reservists
have opportunities to expand their education with full
pay and travel allowances to annual professional society
conferences. And they enjoy the unique privileges of
commission, like full base facility privileges and space
available travel.
In the Air Force Reserve, you'll experience a heightened
sense of camaraderie and teamwork that you may not find
in your normal routine. Whether in the hospital or in
the air, you'll come to depend on your fellow healthcare
professionals.
Become a distinguished member of the Air Force Reserve.
Because what you know today, can make a difference to
your country tomorrow.

Not your typical
day at work.
As an Air Force Reservist you'll
train for missions youve only imagined. And you
better believe it will be exciting. Some Air Force Reserve
missions:
Casualty Staging
Flight surgeons, medical technicians,
and administrative personnel make up the team that stabilizes
patients in the field. This bustling place is a casualty's
first stop before evacuation.
Aeromedical Evacuation
As a part of an Aeromedical Evacuation
Squadron your mission is to quickly transport patients
from a staging area onto a waiting aircraft. You must
then evaluate and stabilize the casualties on the runway
as well as in-flight.
In-Theater Medical Facilities
You're in the heart of it all
at an in-theater medical facility. You'll participate
in situations you've only read about. Triage. Emergency
resuscitation. Surgery. All in efficient mobile units.
Stateside Medical Facilities
Become a part of an active-duty
hospital that offers ground support to Airmen in times
of peace and war. You'll have the opportunity to
further your training within your specialty and learn
the unique demands of flight medicine. |
