"What is the length of training for Health Services Administrators for Medical Services Corps officers? Are family members able to attend the training as well?"
All members entering the Medical Service Corps join the Air Force Reserve as commissioned officers. The first part of your training is the Commissioned Officer Training course (also known as COT) at Maxwell AFB in Alabama.
COT lasts four weeks, during which time you will learn about your role as an Air Force Reserve officer, including military customs and courtesies.
Then you will go to Sheppard AFB in Texas, to attend the Health Services Administrators course (HSA).
HSA is an 11-week course in in which you will learn the basics of healthcare management processes, including:
medical information systems
environment of care management.
Your family is not able to attend either training with you. During both the COT and HSA courses, you will be staying in dorms with other students.
