Generalist Pilot

Overview: Generalist Pilot officers monitor, evaluate and direct flying operations and training programs. These experienced pilots have formerly qualified in individual pilot specialties and now oversee budgets, requirements, planning and other management functions.

Position: Officer


Specific Tasks:

  • Develop requirements for equipment and training 
  • Prepare and coordinate budgets 
  • Analyze manpower requirements and formulate personnel policies 
  • Develop contingency plans


  • Commission as an officer in the Air Force Reserve 
  • Prior qualification in any pilot AFSC (11X3) 
  • Current aeronautical rating and no permanent disqualifications for aviation service as pilot
  • Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance


  • Not applicable due to prior experience/AFSC qualification requirements
