Mobility Air Forces Electronic Warfare Systems

Overview: In addition to jet fighters, sophisticated aviation electronics systems are essential on bombers, cargo aircraft and helicopters to control radar, communications, weapons and other flight operations. These non-jet fighter aircraft are the domain of the Elecronic Warfare Systems personnel.

Position:  Enlisted


Specific Tasks:

  • Analyze, inspect, remove, maintain and install integrated avionics systems, including radar, buit-in-test (BIT), fire control, video display, flight control, navigation, fuel management, airborne warning and control and many others 
  • Perform and supervise avionics maintenance and general aircraft servicing and handling 
  • Prepare aircraft for low altitude attack profiles, precision bombing, covert operations and reconnaissance


  • Normal color vision 
  • ASVAB score of 70 on Electrical 
  • Demonstrated weight lift of 60 pounds
  • Eligibility for Secret security clearance


  • Candidates without prior military experience are required to attend 8 ½ weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX, followed by Technical Training 
  • Technical Training is at Keesler AFB, MS and Sheppard AFB, TX. Length of training varies with course 
  • College degree and credits earned: Avionic Systems Technology - number of credits varies with course
